General Wellness Care
LaCroix Pet Hospital strives to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: comprehensive physical exam, internal parasite testing, heartworm and flea control, vaccination program, spay and neuter package, and specialized blood tests for all life stages.
Surgery
We offer advanced surgical techniques and technology. All patients are carefully screened for safety and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet. LaCroix Pet Hospital used the latest, safest anesthetic gases, the same used in human surgery patients. We stress pain medication before, during and post-op for all our surgical patients. Surgical services and facilities include: fully trained veterinary and technical staff to ensure the safest, most efficient state-of-the-art procedures for your pet; heated surgery tables for greater comfort; advanced sterilization techniques; ECG and respiratory monitors; and full blood testing.
Dental Care
Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. LaCroix Pet Hospital uses modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Fluoride treatment helps strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity. Dental cleaning sometimes involves discomfort, for pets and for people. We offer safe, effective pain management for your pets during and after cleaning.
Emergency and Critical Care
In any emergency, seconds count. Our experienced staff is stocked and equipped to administer the ABCs of basic life support - Airway, Breathing, Circulation/Cardiac compressions. Emergency care is offered during regular business hours. On weekends and holidays, LaCroix Pet Hospital is referring clients to the new Animal Emergency Center at 3257 East Outer Road, Scott City. This clinic is staffed 24 hrs. a day throughout the weekend and on holidays. The referral starts Friday PM through Monday AM, and includes all holidays. During the week, LaCroix Pet Hospital takes its own calls for our regular patients as usual. Therefore, LaCroix Pet Hospital always has a veterinarian on call for emergencies after hours for our regular established clients.
Boarding
Pets are like our children - we feed, nurture and lavish attention on them. Our highly qualified kennel attendants do the same when you can't be there. We provide tender loving care (such as brushing and cuddling), and supervised outdoor playtime to keep them happy and active.
Radiology & Diagnostic & Laboratory Services
Radiology - or X-ray - helps our veterinarians to evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular and gastrointestinal systems. LaCroix Pet Hospital has both in- house laboratory testing as well as extensive referral laboratory testing to further evaluate all the systems of the body as well as ECG and blood pressure evaluation capabilities.
Pain Management
Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. At LaCroix Pet Hospital, we know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care.
